BI 231 - Human Anatomy and Physiology


Credits - 4 Lecture - 3 Lab - 1
This first course in a series of three courses provides students with the opportunity to study the structure and function of the human body from a systematic perspective, while emphasizing homeostasis, organ system interaction, and complementarity of structure and function. Specific topics include: cytology, histology, the integumentary system, the skeletal system, and the cardiovascular system. Laboratory sessions include dissecting animal specimens, conducting physiological experiments, using interactive software, using the compound microscope, and studying anatomical models.
Prerequisite: CH 104  or higher Recommended Prerequisite: CH 110
