G 147 - Basic Geology Credits - 3 Lecture - 3 An introduction to physical geology, designed to help one become more aware of the processes that shape our geological environment. Topics include rock and mineral formation and identification, volcanoes, earthquakes, plate tectonics, glaciations. Field trips where appropriate. Course Designation: Discipline Studies - A transferable course that meets distribution (group) requirements in the associate of arts Oregon transfer (A.A.O.T.) degree and the associate of science (A.S.) degree. Note: Courses meeting distribution requirements may always be used as electives in the transfer degrees.
