ECE 109 - Foundations and Careers in Early Childhood Credits - 3 Lecture - 3 This course introduces the student to the history, philosophy, and social development of early childhood education and is designed to assist students in identifying potential local, state, and federal career opportunities in early childhood education, including child care, education, social work and health care specialties. Students will become familiar with the educational requirements, lifestyle considerations, application processes, testing, screening, training, and certification requirements of employment in the field of early childhood. Students will solidify their academic plan and prepare a personal career plan based on their goals. Fulfills the HD 109 Requirement Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
