MTH 251 - Calculus Credits - 4 Lecture - 4 Students will study infinity and infinite processes through limits of functions and derivatives. Students will understand the derivative as a rate of change in different contexts, including tangents, margins, related rates, and optimization. Applications in these areas will be covered. The use of computer software and applications will also be explored. Prerequisite: MTH 112Z or Placement Term(s) Offered: Fall, Winter, Spring Course Designation: Discipline Studies - A transferable course that meets distribution (group) requirements in the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (A.A.O.T.) degree and the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. Note: Courses meeting distribution requirements may always be used as electives in the transfer degrees.
