EMT 151 - Emergency Medical Technician Basic Part A

Provides instruction at the level of Emergency Medical Technician, a vital link in the chain of the health care system. Includes all the skills necessary for the individual to provide emergency medical care as outlined by the scope of practice established by the Oregon Medical Board. Serves as the first of a two-part course in a series of courses making up a national and state EMS training program.
Prerequisite: Must meet standards as set by the Oregon State EMS Office for licensure, which includes health, Immunizations, and a criminal record check.

Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
