DSL 196 - Electrical Diagnostics & Engine Emissions Credits - 3 Lecture - 2 Lab - 1 This course is designed to introduce the student to the use of electronic control systems for on- and off-road vehicles. It details subjects from basic electrical wiring and connections to more detailed electronic troubleshooting tools and how engine performance and injection timing can result in non-compliant exhaust emissions. This course will cover past, present, and future emission control devices. Students will receive hands-on training in the lab setting, learning to use ESTs and proper troubleshooting techniques. Prerequisite: DSL 191 , DSL 192 , and DSL 181 or AGM 131 Term(s) Offered: Winter Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
