MA 202 - Phlebotomy for Medical Assisting Credits - 1 Lecture/Lab - 1 Introduces basic venipuncture and skin puncture techniques as well as proper safety and specimen-handling procedures. Covers the preparation and training to function as an internal member in the ambulatory clinical lab care setting. This class by itself does not lead to certification as a phlebotomist. Prerequisite: BI 112 Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
