Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer in Elementary Education


Social Science & Education

Intended Program Outcomes:

Upon completion of the AAOT in Elementary Education, students will be able to:

  1. Apply critical thinking to analyze social issues necessary to support the function of public education.
  2. Describe culturally-responsive pedagogy and integration of social justice into a teaching philosophy.
  3. Identify the ethics and responsibilities necessary to obtain a professional license in the teaching field and clarify career confirmation.

 

This degree and MTM CAP is designed for the student who intends to transfer to a four-year college or university within the Oregon University System (OUS) and earn a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Elementary Education. 

In order for a student to successfully transfer to an Oregon public university, students must at a minimum:

  1. Earn a grade of a “C-” or better in courses in the major
  2. Take courses in the major for a grade- Oregon public universities do not accept “pass/no pass”
  3. Earn a cumulative grade point average of 2.0

Students are strongly encouraged to seek advising and contact an admissions counselor or intake advisor at the university they intend to transfer to for more information

A total of 90 credits are required for this degree.
