EMT 153 - Emergency Medical Technician Part A+B Credits - 12 Lecture - 9 Lecture/Lab - 3 Instruction at the level of Emergency Medical Technician. Includes all skills necessary for the individual to provide emergency medical care as outlined by the scope of practice established by the Oregon Medical Board. Serves as a one-term expedited course that meets national and state EMS training program requirements. Students will have two years from the completion of this course to pass their state certification test or this course will need to be retaken. Students may be eligible for credit for prior learning for this course if they possess current Oregon state EMT certification.
Not open to students with credit in EMT 151 and/or EMT 152. Recommended preparations: College-level writing and math Prerequisites: Must meet standards as set by the Oregon State EMS Office for licensure which includes health, immunizations, and criminal record check. Term(s) Offered: Fall Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
