BI 232 - Human Anatomy and Physiology


Credits - 4 Lecture - 3 Lab - 1
This first course in a series of three courses provides students with the opportunity to study the structure and function of the human body from a systematic perspective, while emphasizing homeostasis, organ system interaction, and complementarity of structure and function. Specific topics include: the muscular system, the nervous system, special senses, and the endocrine system. Laboratory sessions include dissecting animal specimens, conducting physiological experiments, using interactive software, using the compound microscope, modeling with clay, and studying anatomical models.
Prerequisite: BI 231
