HTM 127 - Selling in the Hospitality Industry Credits - 3 Lecture - 3 This course prepares travel and tourism students for a successful career in selling travel. It creates an understanding of the broader sales environment. Applies concepts and techniques to sample sales dialogues, examples, and case studies. Assesses the impact of the Internet and e-commerce trends on the travel industry, how consumers currently use the Internet to make travel purchases, and the functionality of travel e-commerce sites. Focuses on how e-commerce travel sites integrate with global distribution systems and the changing value chain in the travel marketplace. Prerequisite: WR 060 and either BA 104 or MTH 025 Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
