ECE 175A - Infant/Toddler Caregiving: Social Emotional Growth Credits - 1 Lecture - 1 This course presents healthy social emotional development in infancy as the underpinning for all other learning and that social emotional development is dependent on the child’s close relationship with respectful, caring adults. Also discussed is the importance of understanding temperament, emotions, environmental impact and care giving responsiveness to the child’s needs. Students are presented information to promote awareness of their own feelings, expectations and attitudes brought with them from past experiences to the field of early childhood education. Students will examine the relationship between social emotional care giving and services provided to families. Term(s) Offered: Spring Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
