LC 109 - Learning Community for Academic Success Credits - 2 Lecture - 2 This team-taught course focuses on the process and functions of learning communities, acting as a conduit of support as students work through goals and outcomes identical to other HD 109 course sections, as well as the broader array of courses that comprise their freshman experience. Emphasis will be placed on identifying the benefits of learning communities, supporting each other in the learning process (specific to HD 109 and more broadly to core courses in general), and working toward becoming a master student. Various strategies and concepts relating to student learning, success and retention will be explored through discussion, activities and surveys. Term(s) Offered: Fall, Winter Course Designation: Elective - A transferable course that can be used to fulfill undesignated elective requirements in the associate’s degree programs.
