ENGR 231 - Engineering Statics Credits - 4 Lecture - 3 Lab -1 This course develops the fundamental principles of mechanics of rigid bodies and the application of these principles to engineering problems. The course includes the analysis of structural members and their connections, torsion on power-transmitting shafts, as well as centroids, moments of inertia, and stress and strain. Prerequisite: MTH251, PHY211 Course Designation: Elective - A transferable course that can be used to fulfill undesignated elective requirements in the associate’s degree programs.
