VT 101 - Introduction to Veterinary Technology Credits - 2 Lecture - 2 This course covers the basic laws of veterinary medicine with the emphasis on practical aspects of the veterinary clinic. Topics include: Veterinary medicine and the veterinary health care team careers in veterinary medicine, types of veterinary practices, professionalism in veterinary workplace, the Human-Animal bond, office practices, workplace safety, universal precautions, basic medical terminology, basic nutrition, basic behavior, veterinary ethics and laws, and breeds on all species. Term(s) Offered: Fall Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
