VT 201 - Anesthesiology Credits - 4 Lecture - 3 Lab - 1 This course covers the valuable skills necessary to safely and effectively manage and maintain patients in all phases of anesthesia. Topics will include: calculate doses of anesthetic related drugs, administration of anesthetic related drugs, place endotracheal tubes, patient monitoring, evaluate pain management, resuscitation procedures, maintain controlled substance logs, assess patient risk status, and maintain proper record keeping. Prerequisities: VT 121 Term(s) Offered: Spring Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
